Hi, Iβm Janet.
I am an experience designer based in Seattle. My background in user-centered design, visual design, and brand strategy, combined with my drive to connect and to build relationships, enables me to design elegant, efficient, and impactful digital experience. I have shipped products in full development cycles and have led the UX process in small/medium-sized teams.
My passion for UX comes from my curiosity in understanding human behaviors, how we think and process information. I strive to leverage that knowledge to improve productivity and to make people happy.
I give back to causes that are close to my heart. I am co-founder and co-organizer for the Seattle Hexagon UX mentorship program.
We kicked-off the first mentorship cohort in the summer of 2016. Since then, the program has been supporting Seattle area womxn and non-binary folx in the UX profession through all stages of careers.
So far, I have organized and co-leaded 14 cohorts. The program helped more than 500 designers, researchers, and content strategists make meaningful connections and build skills that foster success.
I joined the #IamRemarkable team as the workshop facilitator since 2019.
#IamRemarkable is an initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to speak openly about their accomplishments in the workplace and beyond, thereby breaking modesty norms and glass ceilings.
As a facilitator, my role involves hosting workshops and being an ambassador for #IamRemarkable within my personal and professional networks.
